Develops foundation reading, writing and spoken English for learners for whom English is an additional language, building the skills needed for everyday life, study and work in the UK.
No formal entry requirement — learners are placed at the level that matches their current English, usually following an initial assessment.

Entry Level Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life — Entry 1 (combines all three skill areas)
Reading and Writing assessed through set tasks; Speaking and Listening through tutor-assessed spoken tasks.
