About This Course

Strengthen reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while preparing for the transition to Level 1 ESOL. This course builds confidence in using English for everyday communication, work, study, and community life.

Program Details

Consolidates reading, writing and spoken English for speakers of other languages, preparing learners for the step up to Level 1.

No formal entry requirement — learners are placed at the level that matches their current English, usually following an initial assessment.

Entry Level Award in ESOL Skills for Life: Reading — Entry 3
Entry Level Award in ESOL Skills for Life: Speaking and Listening — Entry 3
Entry Level Award in ESOL Skills for Life: Writing — Entry 3
Entry Level Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life — Entry 3 (combines all three skill areas)

Reading and Writing assessed through set tasks; Speaking and Listening through tutor-assessed spoken tasks.
